I recommend the City Versa! Just like the City Mini, only you can have baby ride facing you when they're still little and then turn them away when they're big and want to look at the world! Lucie's List does a great stroller comparison if you haven't looked at that yet. And my one thing is done today! It was to call the pediatrician to see when they expect to get flu shots in for infants. The very unhelpful woman who answered the phone told me they didn't have them yet but I should feel free to check their website...where the last update re: the flu shot was back in August...
I am proud of myself for already doing my one thing for the day, which was to find out if I can use my backup childcare benefit for an extended period of time in February when I go to help take care of my 80 year old aunt so my dad can go on vacation. Good news - I can! I just have to call back in January to have them set me up with a center. If I find the time to vacuum today, it will be the biggest win of a day in a long, long time.
My one thing was to make my daughter's 1 year pediatrician appointment. How is she almost one year old already? I also tried to get her an appointment for a flu shot but they ran out and the **only** way to find out when they get more in is to "keep checking their website". Seems inefficient to me...
My one thing was going to be to get my daughter signed up for swim lessons in October. But for some reason I need to do that in person, so it'll have to be done this weekend. I made a dentist appointment instead, which I've been meaning to do for about 6 months now so I feel accomplished!
My Citibank card with 0% interest until June 2014: May 2014 – $3695.03 June 2014 – $4668.53 July 2014 – $4356.31 August 2014 - $4403.88 I'll be making a payment later today of $160, which will bring me down to $4,243.88. So - a little bit lower than what it was last month! Not too bad considering I had to pay for invitations for a shower I'm co-hosting next month. The good news is I won't have to pay for the gift we're all going in on together so (hopefully) there won't be any charges on September's bill. I am going to seriously start selling my unworn clothes on ebay, so hopefully that will put me in a better direction too!
My 1 thing was to cancel my gym membership. I called the gym, where they directed me to a website and gave me a username and password and I had to fill out a form. Theoretically my membership is cancelled but it takes 30 days for them to stop billing. This could be my 1 thing again next month. But I hope not.
In November I was induced and when that didn't go anywhere, ended up having a C-Section. I forget the overall cost but I do remember that 6 weeks later I had a good friend give birth up in Philly (I live in NC) the same way - induction that turned into a C-Section and her bill was close to $10K higher than mine. Which is crazy. Oh - and most hospitals charge you for the nursery stay even if your baby rooms in with you - the nurses charges are primarily what's covered by that.
@RiffRandell Thanks! I was planning on trying to sell a bunch of clothes on ebay - my best friend had a lot of luck with that. My first two Craigslist sales were amazingly easy - sold within 2 days for the price I listed it for. Not so much luck with this third sale :(
Citibank Mastercard (0% until 6/15) May 2014 – $3695.03 June 2014 – $4668.53 July 2014 - $4356.31 Last month I had said I wanted my debt to be under $2K by the end of the year, but I realized I really don't have a plan to put that in place. I'm going to try and pick up some freelance work, but really won't be able to start that until September. So now my goal is to pay off at least $300 a month - I can do $150 comfortably, so the rest will come from craigslist sales or penny pinching. I came in at just over $300 down this month so I hope I'll be able to do it next month too!
I've been trying to pay off my one last credit card for what seems like forever, so jumping in here to hold myself accountable. My goal is to have it under $2000 by the end of the year. Citibank Mastercard (0% until 6/15) May 2014 - $3695.03 June 2014 - $4668.53 Clearly going in the wrong direction, but I had some major vet bills and took a trip in May. Am hoping to see this go DOWN next month - am going to try and pick up some extra freelance work and sell some clothes on ebay.
