@EvanDeSimone If you actually walk out of your house in order to exchange American currency for a printed copy of a general-interest news magazine you are not Millenial, no matter when you were born.

This game taught me: 1. I am glad I live in a country with free health insurance. 2. Never have children.

"So why is it in the Style section?" That's rhetorical, right? In case it's not, the answer is: it's about ladies. Ladies are style, not news.

By Safari on How to Hire Women

@Sallymander It's actually not all THAT rare for people, especially parents and educators, especially male parents and educators, to say "no, STEM is for boys." Also there's the factor, which women are reluctant to talk about and men reflexively dismiss, that gendered harassment, ranging from microaggressions to sexual assault but usually hovering right around "this place reeks and everyone has porn pinned up in their workspaces and all the men talk constantly about their dicks and ask me really pointed, aggressive questions about being a girl and make awkward NiceGuy(tm) passes at me and challenge every opinion I state as if I just made it up to impress them," is something that makes many women go "You know what, fuck this, this is not what I want to spend my life surrounded by" That can happen as early as middle school, and the men who triggered it will always be completely oblivious to the role they played and get incredibly indignant if anyone ever suggests they've created an environment women don't feel comfortable in, or that blame for the outcome of that situation lies with anyone but the woman.

By Michelle on A Friendly Chat With a Rich Person

I think everyone likes A Rich Person who is recently rich by virtue of their work ethic and interesting job- this was a good interview about what it's like to earn lots of money with the perspective of not always having had lots of money. It would also be fun though to read about a Logan Huntzberger type who has been straight ballin' from birth. Like, tell me about your stables and your private jet.

@cmcm 1:25 train journey, as in an hour and 25 minutes each way, and there IS a train? I don't know where you live but I live in the Bay Area and I know people who commute longer than that every day. Like, Sacramento or Davis to San Francisco. My real-talk advice: suck it up, stock up on library books, and take the train. Or, use the money you would spend on the train and sublet a couch. There just isn't a way for you to spend no money and also keep your friend.

@cmcm Yeah...even if you are the world's most perfect house guest, 2 nights a week for 6 months has about a 95% chance of ruining your friendship (I hate to say it, but I'm gonna say it).

"hippie fertility murals on the ceilings" <- this is the most Commercial Drive-y statement of all time. I used to live near you! I was across the street from Prado. I love that 24 hour grocery store and their abundance of cheap President's Choice food.
