I'm excited to see this piece here because it's one of my New Year's resolutions. I'm only allowing myself to replace my basic black flats if they blow out (I live in a city and walk almost everywhere--shoes are like my tires), and a pair of jeans when the pair I currently have on finally unravels. I did pick up a few great things at a clothing swap last month which felt like shopping but without spending money. I think I used to go shopping if I was bored or had a week where I thought I had nothing to wear. After a massive closet purge, however, I realized that when I thought I didn't have anything to wear, I actually had *too much* to wear. So many options made it so hard to settle on an outfit. So far so good! No sudden urges to pop into H&M.
@josefinastrummer I'm single and childless and didn't find this piece insulting in the slightest. This is Logan's personal story.
Off-topic: this is not the first screencap I've seen from Broken English on The Billfold. Logan, I am highly suspicious that you are a fan of this little movie (I love it too).
@cuminafterall I love the music gifts for the baby!
@aeroaeroaero Elaine Benes is my spirit animal.
@Lorelei@twitter I am in this same exact boat. Not worth freaking out over but even "good debt" is sooooo annoying. I can't wait to pay it off.
Wow, I wish I didn't have fun plans tomorrow so I could hole up in bed with Hulu all day. This is awesome! I'll be treating myself to a marathon on Sunday.
I was kind of doing this anyway. I found myself a little strapped for cash in my monthly budget because I put away too much in savings last month (I was going to try to double my usual monthly "donation" this year but I've already learned that it's not sustainable!) The money I put away is still there and everything but I treat the $ in savings like it isn't mine. Basically, my checking account feels a bit trim even though I'm not technically any poorer. Frugal February it is!
Native Californian here. I really prefer In-N-Out. I can't even remember anything about the burger I had from Five Guys but I definitely didn't love the fries. I did have Shake Shack the last time I was in New York and it was great. In-N-Out/Shake Shack > Five Guys
I feel you here, Logan. My life would be so much easier if this stuff just came out of the tap.
