On Reader Mail: I Have Never Had a Credit Card
Should I be bringing a letter of recommendation from my landlord with me when I move up to New York?

@Mike Dang Holy cow that bed is amazing! Also thanks everyone! I have so many records that I'll probably go with an expedit anyway. If I decide to bring them all up there with me that is.

On We Need to Talk About Bookshelves
Alright: This seems like a good place to ask this question. As anyone who's read my comments ever knows (hi myrna!) I'm moving to New York with very little furniture and a lot of books and records. Anyone have recommendations for book/record combo storage? Expedit seems like a good idea, but I'm nervous I won't have room. Also, am I going to need a twin bed? Do all New Yorkers sleep in twin beds?

@clairapluie and fourthed! I have actually been significantly better with my money (so still not great, but not as terrible) since reading this blog primarily because it's forcing me to think about it, but in a way that I'm enjoying. I'm feeling constructive rather than defeated.

@mlle.gateau In Birmingham, sales tax is ten percent and there's income tax. We are also supposed to pay sales tax on everything we buy online when we file our tax return.

On Reader Mail: How Do I Compare Credit Card Offers?
What about balance transfers in a larger sense? Let's say one were to have two cards with fairly large balances and not so desirable interest rates, would it make sense to consolidate those two cards onto one with a balance transfer, then CUT UP the other cards? Is this even possible?
