On What'd You Spend On Your Bed? Like $200? Does That Sound Right?
I'm going with these guys. I haven't ordered it yet. I'm ordering it next month. I convinced my boyfriend with my buckwheat pillow which has already helped my neck. Stays cool too which will help in the summer. It snowed this morning in Chicago so that's a little hard to imagine!

Next month I'm getting a buckwheat mattress which is pretty cheap. I really like the idea of having everything in my mattress be compostable and have absolutely no flame retardant carcinogens. The catch is, you have to assemble it since you can't legally sell a mattress without frame retardant carcinogens. Thanks tobacco companies!

On Do You Have a Uniform?
A bit harder for girls to pull this off, but I have similar type outfits I sort of roll through. I've developed a goal of looking like a cartoon character. Not goofy, but having a solid look that my cartoon character would wear. I still take too much time deciding what to wear in the morning though.

On Paper Luxury Goods
Their sketchbooks have gone down in quality over the past few years. I draw with markers and the last moleskin I bought I was drawing on every 2 or 3 pages. I was furious. I talked to one of the employees at my local art store and they knew exactly what I was talking about. They changed hands, moved production to China. I keep checking to see if they'll go back because the binding is so great. I feel a little sorrowful about it.

On Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Program
@salmonsaladsammich Thank you for summarizing exactly everything about this song/video that bothers me in one pithy statement. This video would be 200x better if everybody was mostly naked or nobody was mostly naked. The song could have a different hook besides "I know you want it" and then it could make me think of fun party times instead of rape culture. I like fun party times and watching pretty people just not this way.

On A Thing About Mothers and Working That Won't Make You Scream
The long hour culture in white collar jobs is ridiculous. Some of my coworkers were complaining that a client leaves at 5 and doesn't get back to them until the morning. I wanted to shout "What's wrong with that!?!" but didn't. Maybe I should've.

On Cruise Prep
After reading the, "I actually carry a tiny working flashlight with me every day in my bag..." I scrolled up to confirm that this was written by Mike Dang. Scrolled up, yep. You are amazing. Please do a what's in Mike Dang's bag. Your readers (at least one) want to know.

On Is Eating Local Good for Poor Farmers?
I have a CSA with a family I met at my farmers market. They aren't organic, but organic =/= sustainable. Keith and Angela grow good food. They're not poor and desperate, but they are not rich by any means. I have a good job and can afford this and I'm happy to support them. My parents house is surrounded by fields that use to be my grandparents. Last summer my dad noticed that the corn in his garden had some beetles but the corn surrounding the perimeter of our land was completely barren of life because of the pesticides. My dad's pretty conservative, but he feels the pesticides are going too far. That farmer (who my dad knows personally) is doing a lot better than Keith and Angela. I'm not happy my tax dollars is supporting that corn around my parents house. I don't know any Chilean farmers, but I'd wager that there are some messed up US policy that benefits the guy on top and I'm betting the guy on top is not the Chilean farmer and whether I buy my produce from them or Keith and Angela is the least of their problems.

On Divestment Thing Catching On Maybe Planet Might Be Okay Afterall
That's wonderful! I was hopeful when I read about the divestment strategy originally. Interesting that the list of cities divesting are cities I would consider having better governments that I'd consider moving to.
