Friday: Eating (and drinking) leftovers from the company holiday party for breakfast and lunch. Dinner with my dad, grandma and cousin. Hopefully will not forget my leftovers this weekend (grandma insists I take food home, and I'm not arguing). Saturday: Yoga, freelancing, and lunch with mom! ($15) and then we will have facials together ($10 for the tip) which is my Hanukah gift from her. In the evening I have another holiday party, where I will bring a bottle of wine (already have one). Sunday: Yoga, freelancing, meal-planning, groceries ($25) and general housecleaning. I might have a date, but we shall see. Total: $50
Good morning! Weekend! Friday: Workyworking. Dinner with the family. Hang with friends. Somewhere in there I also need to fit in some freelance work and a visit to my mom's. Seems unlikely. Saturday: Get up early and help my mom host her family for lunch. Lots of cooking, and hopefully there will be leftovers to take home. Return shoes & buy boots - additional $40? Eyebrows $4. Cheap Indian dinner with friends $8. Friend's 30th birthday! $20 for drinks. Sunday: Supplement leftovers with groceries $20. Hang with a boy $20 (plans unknown). Laundry, freelancing, etc. Cleaning! Return a birthday present to a very expensive store where I can afford nothing (except the eggs benedict are the best in town). Total: $112
@charmcity $140 on a good coat is a great deal (from someone who has been wearing the same coat since 2007 and paid $150)
@planforamiracle my date paid for my drinks too, but I usually feel very weird about this. Do you judge people for/against paying for your drinks? I try to pay my way, but a lot of men are quite macho about this...
@EmilyAnomaly Cannot wait til all my roommates are in the same place at the same time so we can do this together. Our fridge is still bombed out from previous housemates.
So tired from the weekend. Here's what I got up to: Friday: Dinner with the family :) Saturday: Spent a lot of time decompressing in front of the TV Dinner with my bro, which was fun, but terrible food :( $20 Drinks with a friend, which turned into a date... $0 Sunday: Cleaned out my old room at mom's and helped her turn it into an office $0 Tried to sell CD's (unsuccessful) $0 made Cleaned with the roommates ("wow, I didn't know this countertop was supposed to be white!") $0 and some trauma Another hangout that turned into a date. Weekend, yay! Friday: Got in early, freelanced. Brought myself a bagel from home for breakfast. Making sushi at work with coworkers for lunch, my share is $8 Dinner at home with mum and then we are going to see The Fifth Estate for FREE cause she has a coupon (mum is nice). Saturday: Work is hosting a workshop, and I am seriously considering spending my Uber coupon on heading in early for almost free... It would cost about $5. I will be fed breakfast and lunch. Home, freelancing, laundry, and attempting to put together a decent Halloween costume are on the agenda. As is buying a mini bottle of gin to take to the party - $10 Sunday Hangover, freelancing, laundry and preparing to move! Maybe I will buy paint for my new room ($60), as I did find an apartment (thanks for the sweet wishes about that last week)! Total: $83 if I buy paint :)
@LookUponMyWorks Thanks! It's a tough market where I am and where I want to live....
I too spent less than expected and am proud of myself. Friday: Lunch only cost $7.50 instead of $10 Dinner with family was lovely Freelancing etc. Saturday: Worked and worked out during the day. Then saw apartments. Went to one and when I arrived was told it had already been rented out (Really? You couldn't tell me that when we were in touch 15 minutes ago?!) Saw another more awesome apartment *fingers crossed*. Dinner + pocky $8 Burlesque show & a Coke $29 After dinner snacks and drink $9 Sunday: Went to the museum and saw a great exhibit for free, since my friend had two passes! Laundry, freelancing, etc. Total: $53.5, better than the $90 I anticipated. Probably because I still didn't pick up my dry-cleaning.
