Holy shit, after reading all these comments I can’t decide if I want to make a dentist appointment right away or knock my teeth out and call it good. I can get all the nutrition I need via a liquid diet, right?
@knittinginheels yes, please make this happen
@honey cowl I also shopped at Target during the breach period and got a new card number just to be safe AND I got the e-mail today. The weird thing is, I've never shopped with them online so I'm not sure how they got my e-mail address... my bank?! I tried to log in to their site with my e-mail address and used the forgot password link only to get "Sorry, we couldn't find that email address. Please try again or create a new account." I signed up for the credit monitoring because I figured it wouldn't hurt.
@la_di_da One thing I’ve learned with chicken dishes is that it helps a lot to cut the chicken up before you put it in, doesn’t dry out as much. This morning I cut up 3 chicken breasts and an onion then threw in a pouch of Frontera sauce. I’ve also just used salsa + cumin in a pinch and it turned out great. By the time I get home it will have sat in there for 9+ hours.
UNIVERSAL. My bf and I only got into the house we we're in because he made the first appointment to see it just minutes after it was posted on craigslist. I didn't see the house in person until after we’d signed the lease, several days before we were slated to move in.
My Asian mother measures water in the rice cooker using the first knuckle on her middle finger, when the finger is touching the surface of the rice. It works for me, but I never cook more than 2 cups at a time, I'm skeptical about it working if you were cooking more than that.
I did that prank of the screenshot of a desktop to my bf and kid with our home computer recently, but without knowing it is (apparently) a common prank! My teenager was so confused.
I decided to buy fake leather booties this year instead of opting for real leather because I purchase leather boots every year and always end up having to replace them the following year. I have wide feed and am super hard on my shoes so I figured, fuck it. I bought two pairs of fakes at Nordstrom Rack for $50 each, have worn both tons, and they’re holding up well. It seems like most leather boots under $200 are not made very well and I can’t afford to spend that much so why bother. YES, I SPENT A LONG TIME NEGOTIATING WITH MYSELF OVER THIS.
My kid and her friends were pumped about the house handing out bottles of water last year. I guess they were pretty thirsty at that point, I would’ve thought more along the lines of unnecessary weight.
Books are one of the few things that I don’t ever feel guilty about buying, but I only spend about $30 a month. 90% of the books I buy are used and are from Powell’s or Amazon. If the difference in price between Powell’s and Amazon is under $5 I go to Powell’s, but sometimes I’m too lazy and opt for having it shipped to me for less. Then I feel super guilty and typically end up buying something from Powell’s within the week anyway. I have two large book cases in my living room filled with books that are organized by color, I like the way it looks. I've never purchased an Ebook and am too disorganized / hard on my books to use the library.
