By honey cowl on Talking About Jealousy of the Professional Variety

Every time another article says something like this: "Especially when you live somewhere like New York..." I have to roll my eyes & either quit reading or be content with being annoyed for the rest of the article. You guys, there are other cities. These events happen in other cities. Things are not magically different because you live in New York City.

By Nick on Matt Langer Makes a Very Good Point

Nobody in their right mind considers lining up in front of an Apple store "a sign of good taste and allegiance to a worthy brand" either. That and Black Friday are just equally sad.

By Katey Rich@facebook on Feel No Shame. Re-Wear Your Halloween Costume From Last Year

Last year I went as Liza Minnelli/Lucille #2 entirely because I found an awesome shiny shirt at Housing Works. I had such a good time I'm doing it again this year. All I need is a new set of fake eyelashes.

By cryptolect on Feel No Shame. Re-Wear Your Halloween Costume From Last Year

A friend of mine just emailed me that she didn't have time to make a costume for my Halloween party. I replied, "I have wigs! And a feather boa, and fake fur. You could be a werewolf burlesque dancer!" I haven't heard back.

By Chanel on The Stuff Was Mine, But I Didn't Care About Stuff

Thanks for the concern, Modern Aphrodite, but I'm not going to have children and no one in my family was/is interested in this stuff. We have pictures, etc. that remind us of people. This happened when I was in my early 20's and I'm in the my early 30's now, and there is no regret.

By stuffisthings on Follow Your Passion? No. Follow The Money

Hey guys the early 1990s just called, they want their perceptions about twenty-somethings, their job market, their Middle East wars, and their fears of Asian economic domination back.

By deepomega on Follow Your Passion? No. Follow The Money

I actually disagree, and I say this a giant gross pragmatist and capitalist! I think the problem is narrow definition of "passion." You may love playing baseball, but you probably shouldn't build your education and career plans around it. Passion means taking into account that a) nobody only loves one thing and b) you should maybe figure out how likely your passions are to ever make money before you pick one.

Having grown up in Florida with central a/c, it just boggles my mind that some people don't have air conditioning. Truly, boggles my mind.
