On My Last Five Hundred Bucks
@Logan Sachon BUT if it makes you feel any better I love my IKEA mattress. I think my roommate has the one you got and she loves it. I have one of the latex foam ones and it's the shit.

@andnowlights I live in Nashville and I saw another commenter say something about Nashville yesterday! I've gone to three Hairpin meetups but they are always lightly-attended. A Billfold meetup could be fun. Re: CMM, I like to make my way to the 12 South Taproom, drink beer at 6am and cheer for the runners. One of my favorite annual traditions.

I have that bed base. I was super excited about it because in theory you don't even need a bed frame! Win! But I guess I flop down on the side of my bed more often than the average person, because the wood cracked within a week on two sides (I am not a particularly heavy person either). I had to go to Home Depot and find some metal plate looking things to use to reinforce it, then ended up also getting a bunch of wood blocks and wedging them between the floor and the frame like extra legs all around the sides so it doesn't sag (this is ugly but it works). Moral of the story, sit gingerly on the side of your bed.

@AitchBee I remember this as well, but I also can't remember the company. I did appreciate it at the time.

@chic noir I've always tipped on piercings... usually a flat $10ish. No idea if that's right or not. I would not tip on the cost of the jewelry, just the piercing.

On Real World Math
@limenotapple I think, pretty universally, the cost of brunch is at least 50% booze.

On Monday Check-In
Friday I put gas in my car ($33) and went out for a burger & beer with friends ($18 including tip). We then went to a Trapped in the Closet singalong at the local theater, where I bought another beer ($6). My ticket was purchased a while ago. Saturday I grabbed some groceries at Trader Joe's ($14) and that's it. Sunday I treated a friend to the most amazing brunch buffet I have ever seen ($48 for both of us, including tip) and grabbed some cheap canned goods at the grocery store to trade in for my library fines ($7, but will get me out of $14 in library fines - whoops). $126. More than I should be spending right now, but reasonable, especially since it included groceries and gas!

@andnowlights Keep an eye on the 'Pinup google group, we JUST had a Nashville meetup in March but a Billfold-er would be welcome at any future 'Pinup, I'm sure. Let's all be friends! https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/hairpin_pinups
