On Your Morning Cup of Coffee
Bill Cunningham said in his documentary: “The cheaper [the coffee] the better.” Since moving to New York, I have to wholeheartedly agree with him. I love watery bodega and street cart coffee, and I brew Chock Full Of Nuts at home. Every once in awhile I might indulge in an expensive cup of coffee, but it's not really my thing.

On Government Works! Only 8 Weeks After Mailing in My Broken MetroCard I Got a New One
I really wish the MTA could take a lesson from the CTA and have cards you can manage online. My Chicago Card could be refilled online, and if it was stolen, I could freeze the account and they'd sent me a new one in a few business days (sort of like a debit card). Sigh, one of the only things I miss about Chicago transit.

On My College Changed My Life (I'm Paying Dearly for It)
Do you still dream of being an archivist? I'm currently in school for it now! AND I got a full scholarship. The dream is still possible! Don't give up! Also, my loans are on hold while I'm in school so it is sort of like they don't exist?

On No It's True IUDs Are the Best
@ThatJenn What is to worry? I will say, it is a little stiff immediately after insertion, which my partner had said he could "feel" but it didn't seem to hurt him, and the longer it's inserted, the softer it gets. Mine has curled up.

On Things to Talk About Before Shacking Up
@eraserface Yeah, I'd agree. My boyfriend and I are not engaged, but we are currently in the process of opening a joint bank account. We are each going to put the same amont of money per month into this acount from out personal ones, and pay for all joint expenses from this account (rent, utilities, groceries, etc). Some of our friends think this is a huge step, but I think of it instead as a way to keep the expenses equitable (and subsequently, happier and healthier).

On In Search of a Place to Live
I have the perfect one bedroom in Bed Stuy, but dealing with Apple G Realty to get it was by far the worst renting experience ever. Thankfully, they are a third party and not our landlords. Just FYI, don't deal with them.

@myrna.minkoff Also this should be Billfold approved! If I do buy coffee, it's always less than $2 (though I usually brew it at home).
