On Meanwhile in Greece, The Shock Doctrine Plays Out

Why isn't there any mention of where the debt came from, tho? (Insane pension plans/public job programs.) The banks aren't really to blame for Greece, except insasmuch as they lent money to the country - most of the debt is government-owned.

On Should Your Wedding Gift Cover Your Meal?

@Lorelei@twitter You're right, it's totally worth 2000 dollars to have a real nice 100 pixel square icon on facebook.

On Have You Been Delayed At the Airport Thanks to the Sequester?

@jfruh Yeah, uh, I had that happen to me three months ago, too. "Air traffic control" is what they tell you when there's no visible weather to blame. (My flight was three hours late.) My point is, the FAA has every reason in the world to act like every single problem is sequester-related.

On Have You Been Delayed At the Airport Thanks to the Sequester?

How on earth can you determine if one particular delay is "due to the sequester"?

On Should Your Wedding Gift Cover Your Meal?

No. Definitely not. If you can't afford the wedding you're throwing, expecting to make it up in gifts is a) stupid b) terrible and c) astoundingly rude. Fuck you.

On The Y Generation's "Culture of Transparency"

The biggest advantage your boss has over you is not the ability to fire you - it's knowing more than you about what you're worth and what you're getting paid. Full stop. This trickles down from not knowing if you should ask for a raise, to not knowing which careers will compensate you best. It is TERRIBLE.
