On Let's Throw Some Money at Our Problems: April 2013 Check-In
I was working on a savings goal of $4000. My plans changed about 2 weeks ago sooooo.... March 2013: $2100 April 2013: $0 I used my entire savings for a down payment on a new car because the prospect of spending another summer transporting and caring for dogs with a manual lock/window sedan was absolutely miserable. So I ditched the 2002 Corolla for a 2010 Honda Fit Sport and I love it more than anything else that I own! FWiW, I’m starting over on the savings next week.

On Monday Check-In
i didn’t do an estimate because so many factors were up in the air but it turned into a very expensive weekend due to one decision: i bought a new car. so i spent $2500 on the down payment. i also went to a friend’s birthday party in cambridge and bought a 6pack of hoegaarden to bring with me ($10.49) and had to get cat food and a fur remover thing because i am always covered in animal hair ($50.78) for a grand total of $2561.27. now that it’s written on the internet forever and ever maybe it’ll seem a little more real to me.

On Do You Have a Uniform?
I have a uniform only because my work clothes get pretty disgusting and I would never wear them for anything else. Black cotton/spandex leggings, a cotton long sleeved shirt or tank top (depending on the weather), sneakers, and the same blue hoodie. If I were to wear any of these clothes anywhere else, every dog I pass tries to follow me down the street.

On And I'm Proud to Be an American, Where I Can Do 1 Thing
@sintaxis i have a paralyzing fear that the owner of the clothes will come back in when i’m elbow deep in their undies, so i usually just neurotically check the machines every 10 minutes until one opens up

On Do You Look Forward to Going to Work?
@Norrey as someone whose job it is to hang out with puppies/dogs all day, you are definitely right. i love my job and can’t really imagine doing anything else with my life, but it still feels like work. i loved this piece, so relevant

On Let's All Throw Some Money at Our Problems: March 2013 Check-In
working on a savings goal of $4000 i’ve deemed “Becoming an Adult Human” Feb 2013: $1680 March 2013: $2100 it is THRILLING to see that number keep going up. i have a feeling once i hit my goal (projected late august/early september) i’ll just let the autosaves continue and see how much i can get in there. i’m anticipating a lessened income during the summer due to a huge freelance client being down the cape for 4 months, so hopefully i can keep the weekly savings going.
