On How Much Do You Spend on Groceries Every Week?
I spend about $50 a week on groceries. I like to make my breakfasts and lunches for the week at home.

On The Crazy Bag People Inside of Us
Yeah, if you want a bag in SF (I think plastic bags are banned but still see them from time to time), it'll cost you 10 cents. As a result I am fresh out of bags (plastic or paper) at my apartment and am now wondering where to put my trash. Must buy more 10 cent paper bags the next time I go to Whole Foods.

That's great! Sounds like that'll help give you some financial wiggle room. Best of luck!

On What Percentage of Your Pay Do You Spend on Rent?
41%! I live in a studio apartment in SF. I wish my rent were lower, but I live in a safe neighborhood and I am a 20 minute walk from work, so it's worth the cost to me.

On Friday Estimate
I'm going to a wedding in Utah next week (Wed-Mon) that is going to involve an overnight bus trip from SF to LA, then a stop in Vegas, and a 7 hour drive to Moab, so my goal this weekend is to only spend money on groceries. The necessities. And nothing else! Except a dinner thing I have tonight. And maybe some tea at a coffee shop... Friday: Trader Joe's run! Hopefully around $30. Meet friend for dinner and a drink. (Hopefully around $20) Saturday: City Guides Walking Tour of North Beach (Free, but will probably give $3-$5 tip) Sunday: Possibly hang out at my local cafe and work on my blog/design portfolio. ($4) Prepare breakfast & lunch for the week (Mon-Wed) ($0), and attend a dinner at my friend's place. I'm bringing wine (that I bought a week ago), so this will be a $0 activity. Estimate: ~$60

On Friday Estimate
I just moved last weekend so that sucked up most of my budget for this coming week, ergo, I need to lay as low as possible this weekend and next week! (Which i am dubbing "hermit week.") Friday (tonight): I need to pick up on waffle mix and fruit since I'm having some coworkers over for breakfast tomorrow morning ($10), and I'm going to a triple feature tonight ($20 - ticket plus sandwich). Saturday: Cherry Blossom festival (hopefully no more than $20). Saturday night I'm going to this free party, with free food and open bar! ($0) Sunday: Clean, organize and decorate my new apartment. ($0) Also, Mike, I'm excited about your upcoming visit from R&D! I miss you guys; have a blast!
