NO MONTHLY UNLIMITED PASS IN DC. Actually, there is one: 28-Day Fast Pass $230 Pass available only on SmarTrip® cards for 28 consecutive days of unlimited rail travel. Pass can be loaded onto your SmarTrip® card by logging in to your account online or by downloading at any Metrorail station Farecard & Passes machine. Granted it's not terribly useful, but it is available. 3. Why do I have to go to a CVS or Giant to buy a Smart trip? They also sell them in some metro stations, and online: Purchasing a SmarTrip® Card It's easy to buy a SmarTrip® card. Purchase your card online with your Visa, Mastercard or Discover card. You can also purchase a SmarTrip® card at 47 Metrorail stations that are equipped with dispensers (all stations will have dispensers by September 1), or at Metro sales offices, retail outlets and commuter stores. A reduced fare SmarTrip® card is available for senior citizens and people with disabilities. To purchase a Senior SmarTrip® card, you must provide proof of age. People with disabilities must have a valid Metro Disability ID card to purchase the reduced fare SmarTrip® card.
