On Recent Vanity Purchases, Considered

So the thing about cheap shoes, which is really frustrating for me, is they are really bad for your feet AND the scale of "cheap" in these terms runs from your $35 J Crew flats (which I'm sure are super cute) to $100 flats you'd buy at say, Nordstrom. It is near IMPOSSIBLE to find cute, affordable, comfortable, and foot-friendly shoes. People are selling shoddily-made shoes that are bad for your feet and charging a mint. It's criminal. It's modern day foot-binding! (okay, that's dramatic). I want to look cute but I don't want to hobble around in my old age. What is the solution? Does one exist?
