On The Open-plan Office
Yes! Open plan offices are not good. I need a little policing but there is way too much policing going on, especially since I sit in the middle of a circle of people. Just me. In the middle. By myself. I love my job most days but it does me no good to be distracted by coworkers conversations, plus I can never understand customers when they call on the phone, plus I am always worried that my boss's boss is looking at my computer screen because she has actually TALKED TO ME about it when there are billions of studies out there that say taking little breaks is good for productivity. Clearly I'm riled up about this.

@AnnieW Haha, yep, that was on purpose! In the same way that I don't participate in the checkins/estimates, I don't want intimate details of my bank account on the internet. For what it's worth, I live on the Best Coast (aka not the east one), but I am from the middle of the country, and I only notice slight differences in actual grocery prices when I'm at home or at my inlaws.
