I can't bear to list all my debts right now. But I am paying them off one-by-one. I've already got my emergency savings to $1,000. My goal for October was to pay my Wal-Mart card off and I did just that. October: Walmart Card @ 22.9% APR - $761.08 Balance is now zero plus they increased my limit to $1800 so yay for decreasing my debt to income ration. Next month's goal is to pay off my Discover card.
@joyballz I'm going this Monday since I'm off for Columbus Day! Can't wait!
@limenotapple I'm in a similar boat right now, except I believe all the background stuff has been done - just waiting for an offer. Oh please, please, please call me by 5 so I can get on with my life.
submit my application/resume for a new job I've been eyeing.
@Jake Reinhardt I think we may be the same person. For real for real.

@polka dots vs stripes Hey it's ok to creep! Yes, I went to VCU. Are you a MURP too???
On Do 1 Thing
I did three things this week (not today but it should count right?). 1. I finally did my financial aid exit counseling online to remove the hold I had on my account. I may or may not have graduated from my M.U.R.P program over a year ago... I signed up for the pay-as-you-earn program now that my forbearance period is up. Had I known about this program (by doing my counseling) I would have never asked for the forbearance to begin with. Anywho, the plan is to continue to work for my non-profit and eventually move on to the government sector until I reach my 120 payments. Then bye bye student loans! 2. My bf and I decided we are going to buy a house together by next August because my rent is more than all my coworkers' mortgages and my boyfriend is always at my house so it's silly to maintain two households. Anywho, I pulled all 3 credit scores. Then I pulled my TransUnion Fico score just to see if they vary... they did, by about 45 points. I have no idea which score lenders go with I just know they usually chose the middle number out of the three. While I qualify for a loan with my current scores I'd like to bump them up by 50 points. So I've made a goal to pay off $5,000 in credit card debt in 10 months. The bf also has to sell his house first... 3. Registered for a home-ownership class. This class is a requirement if you plan to use a FHA-plus loan through the Virginia Department of Housing and Development, which has an excellent first time home-buyers program - although you are considered a first time home-buyer as long as you haven't purchased a home in 3 years. I must say, doing those three things reduced the chronic anxiety that has been nagging me for months. Now if only I could find another job...
I need to retrieve my FAFSA password so I can file for a forbearance...
The last bill I paid was for $65.97, the upcoming bill is for 77.67 (more AC usage). This is electricity only. Oh and there are 3 of us and I am on the 1st floor of a two-story colonial that was built in the late 30's. This house has the original windows which makes it extremely energy inefficient!
@joyballz Oh yikes I didn't even know there were pictures. EW! Who does that! Sorry y'all!
