Also, why are people only a little bit taller than they were before the industrial revolution. I mean, people are on average like a foot taller, but economic productivity has gone up several hundred percent. Why aren't we all forty feet tall?

Two schools of thought on this from a serial procreator - 1) If you are buying books/tools/objects in hopes of being a better parent, congrats - you are probably already a better parent then most who spawn. 2) You can't buy your way to good parenting. Your kid can be in the best safety seat in the most well-researched SUV, and sleeps at night on a safe foam bed after brushing their teeth with a Sonicare Jr. toothbrush. However, if you are the ineffective twit who lets their kid run around at Starbucks while you lose yourself in your cell phone....no amount of capital investment can make you a good parent.

I would actually argue that we haven't made dramatic improvements in a lot of areas of interpersonal interaction: managing subordinates in a professional setting, breaking up without heartache (or legal battles!), negotiating legislative compromises... But isn't engaging with each other, without quite fully knowing how, the stuff of the human condition?

I recently upgraded from mcdonald's double doubles to making instant coffee at home. So I'd say I have a year or two to go to make it as a True Coffee Snob, but I'm getting there!

That ad is RIDICULOUS; clearly it should read like this: "Are you an adorable, bespectacled child with inexplicable powers whose parents are both sadly deceased? Looking to live with abusive, self-centred curmudgeons in between school years? HAVE I GOT A PLACE FOR YOU!"

I'm disappointed more people aren't flocking to this post to make puns.

@MaxBraverman He was going to squawk to the landlord but then he chickened out and decided to just duck his creditors until everything is sorted out. He really needs to pull his head out of the sand! (Plus I heard the landlord is kind of a cock anyway.)

And the first thing I thought when reading this was "dead beaks, all of them!". So now you all have to suffer as well.
