I don't understand why people willingly pay for shitty apartments. How can you go home everyday to an awful place? I remember one landlord in my apartment search wanted almost $700 for something that looked like a serial killer's lair. These landlords have some nerve. how can you expect me to pay you and you can't even keep the place in a livable condition?

Sorry if I'm slow but I'm not sure what you are trying to convey with this post or what you want us to gain from it. Are you unsure of your social status? Are you complaining about labels? Do you want pity for having common troubles or praise for having a "funny feeling" about your privilege? OK so didn't grow up rich compared to the guy with the parents that owned the hockey team but you are definitely privileged and I'm not sure why you have to be ashamed of or embarrassed by it. It's just a fact of your life. And it doesn't sound like you are currently poor. You sound broke to me and in need of a budget.

On Why Aren't You Paying for Music?
I feel like this post is blaming the little people. If someone is keeping wealth from artist it's more likely to be the people at the top. In my experience if an artist is new I usually have to buy their music or they give it away online for free. Most music that's illegally downloaded comes from the well off artists. I can never find music from obscure bands and I just end up buying their music. But i refuse to do the same for artist like beyonce that do just fine without my purchase.

On Why To Check Your Bills (Or: Why Not To Check Your Bills)
Of course the $10,500 seems nice now but what if she didn't win her case? She would be out that money. I don't trust companies to give me back what they owe me so they only get what I owe them. And on the tax issue I'd rather keep my money and not loan it to the gov't for free because what do you learn from that? It's better in the long run if you teach yourself how to save instead having someone else force it on you.
