On Drug Companies Save Lives (But Only If There's Money For Them)

Conversely the reason you are now seeing so many ads for Enbrel (despite massive side effects) is that it costs the patient @ $2,500 per month.

On Adventures at the Intersection of Homeownership And Sewage

@JakeMohan I thought the same thing when I read this. I think maybe Noro lives in LA like me. It is against the law to sell or buy a house with unpermitted work here. You have to tear it out. Or call a contractor and get it permitted. Crappy unpermitted work is rampant in LA. So I think the bank makes you check for permits before you buy. I figured they don't do that where you live. However those repairs would have cost much more here. So maybe it is not as much of an issue where you are.

On Fired Waitress Speaks Out

@MalPal The party of 8 was trying to beat the auto gratuity by splitting up their group check into individual checks. When that did not work the pastor claimed that she was not liable for the pre-agreed upon (as printed on the menu) gratuity. Her individual bill was $35. Multiply that by 8 people = $280. So the party of 8 stiffed the waitress on an approx. $280 check. In god's name. And if 8 people hogged a table and had a check of $35 and stiffed the waitress on top of that they should be tarred and feathered. In god's name.

On Fired Waitress Speaks Out

@stuffisthings The gov is onto that and taxes waiters on a percentage of their sales whether they make that percentage or not.

On WWYD: Annoying the Other Shoppers

You could have asked the cashier to check you out but let you ring up the one final item as soon as you returned (after they rang out whatever customer they happened to be on). Also how could you not of known how much a case of water weighed? It's not like water has a variable weight.

On Quick Chat: Car Buying

@lindseykai I did not have to pay anything at the DMV. I did not have to pay anything when I sold my old car either. I am in California, maybe the law is different here or it changed since I bought my car.

On Quick Chat: Car Buying

@aetataureate Lemon Squad seems a little high. When I bring cars to my regular mechanic to check out he has done it for free. The one time I had to bring a car to a mechanic I did not know it cost me $40.
