On The New $100 Bill Won't Be Circulated in My Wallet
When my grandmother was still alive, we'd all get a crisp $100 bill for our birthdays. My other grandma would give us a crisp $2 bill.

On Out of Town Guests Mean BLANK For Your Budget (What Is, 'What Budget')
I have FIVE friends coming to visit me, in the form of my best friend's bachelorette party weekend. I already dropped money on hotel reservations and Second City tix, and I am cringing to think of our tapas, brunch and drinks bills that are forthcoming. Someone advice me, please.

On Area Man Goes to Drugstore
@Punk-assBookJockey I think you're right about the Vitamin Vault. That's the one I frequent, though I do go to the Loop one since it's near my work building. I did NOT know Clark and Diversey was getting one--is it in the old Borders?

There are TWO flagship stores in Chicago (downtown and Wicker Park) and they're super impressive. No pictures of the Vitamin Vault?

On Austin, On Less Than $20 a Day
We did virtually the same thing, but drove 18 hours from Chicago instead of flying. The badge might be convenient, but there is something sort-of rewarding about waiting in line for free Jameson and vegan queso and actually receiving it + good music.

On The Informational Interview Is Actually a Thing You Should Do, Yes
Love this. I can't believe there are still networking events when it is so easy to just reach out to people you admire via The Interwebs. Generally, people love talking about themselves, so it's never too hard to be like "Hey can you talk about yourself at me after I buy you a coffee?"

On The Triumphant Return of Do 1 Thing
Yay for the new gig! I did my one thing, which was buying a bridesmaid dress for a November wedding...with my parents' credit card. Within 20 minutes I had a text from my dad asking why there were charges to Nordstrom, and I had to explain that I do not have $175 at this particular moment in time. Good day. Related: Everyone, please stop getting married.
