On 2 Ways to Interpret: "Well, My Parents Pay My Phone Bill, So"
I'm on my family plan and I pay my mom each month. Super easy bc I can transfer the money online. I also pay the insurance on the phone and the cost of the upgrade for a new phone when the contract goes up. It just doesn't seem worth it to get my own plan when we've been on the same one for 10 years and it's all grandfathered in. Until I finally got a smartphone my line cost about $10/month!

This is hilarious, I had to talk to to this company for work. It's hard to stop yourself from laughing when talking about renting an island for $40k-$100k a night. You know it's not really that expensive because it can accommodate up to 30 people! /drowns

On Bizarre Job Interviews
Not bizarre but I was asked to come back in and talk to the people I had interviewed with before the holidays. I found out they had contacted at least one of my references before they asked me to come in so I felt optimistic. It was more of a second interview than I had anticipated and I felt like an ass for getting my hopes up. Now it's almost been a week and I haven't heard anything so I'm feeling pretty crushed.

@nonvolleyball This is really good advice, thank you! Unfortunately I talked to both my direct report and manager last week. Two months ago I was in "prime position" to move forward, in April they were "thinking" about changing my title, and last week now they've cycled back to "within the next 6 months!" It's exhausting. I'm trying to get out.

@eternaloctopus I asked if I could update my title because I've absorb 2 positions and I wanted it to be reflected on my resume but no dice. I also asked for a salary range for the next position that they're telling me is mine when the time is right and they won't even tell me that. I don't understand anything!!!

I love this advice, just wish it worked for me. :( I asked for a title change and a raise and they didn't want to do it, despite my glowing reviews and repeatedly telling me that they want to keep me as an employee and they value me, they really do. Clearly not, because I've been in this position for too long and once again it is clear that promoting me is not a priority or even an issue. I'm looking for another job but it's hard. Yay Friday!

I'm going to a wedding and if we want to drink at the rehearsal dinner we have to pay for the alcohol ourselves. So that's not the norm??? Not saying I need to get hammered or anything, but yeah, gotta hit the cash bar if I want a glass of wine.
