Monday Check-in

Good morning! Let’s check in.

On Saturday afternoon I met up with some friends at a bar for a birthday and got to catch up with someone I haven’t seen in a few years ($18 for drinks, $10 for a small gift), and then we headed out to a Tex-Mex place for dinner ($34) before saying our goodbyes. On Sunday, I spent the day outside enjoying the weather, picking up some groceries ($60), and doing some work. My estimate was $130 and I spent $122.

And how were your weekends?

Monday Check-in

Hi! I’m doing the Monday check-in this week since Mike is out of town, so let’s see how I did.

First of all, I didn’t do a Friday estimate, but I did realize on Saturday that this was going to be a pretty low-spend weekend for me. I spent $10 on a ticket to the Century Ballroom’s 18th Anniversary Party, which got me into a session of both swing and salsa dance lessons as well as a group social dance afterwards. I spent $2 to check my coat and purse during the party, and $12 on an adult beverage.

That was all I thought I was going to spend this weekend, but on Sunday afternoon Patreon sent me an email to note that it had processed my monthly contributions, so I also spent $22 supporting people on Patreon.

Total: $46.

How about you?

Good morning and good Monday! How was your weekend?

Monday Check-in

Good morning! It’s beginning to warm up—aren’t you as glad as I am? Let’s check in.

I received the last tax document I was waiting on in the mail, so I spent a part of this weekend doing taxes (good news for me: the estimated tax payments I made last year covered what I would have owed the IRS). I bowed out on drinks and a dinner out with some pals to run some errands and catch up on work I’ve been avoiding since coming back from my trip. Groceries were $55, and I bought breakfast at a neighborhood café (pictured) while test-piloting a new app that gave me a free cappuccino ($10). My estimate was $50 and I spent $65.

Monday Check-in

Good morning! Today is President’s Day so we’ll be cutting out early, but let’s check in.

I spent the majority of the weekend house/cat sitting for a friend in Brooklyn, while minding my ankle injury (which has been healing). Ester came over on Friday afternoon and we ordered takeout ($13). On Saturday, I hobbled down the street for coffee ($3), ordered takeout ($25), and watched a depressing HBO documentary in the evening. Logan came over on Sunday morning with egg & cheese bagels, and we ate them while catching up and watching YouTube clips. No estimate; I spent $41.
