This NYT story about the trend of IVF clinics offering raffles for free rounds of IVF is FASCINATING. Is it okay? Is it only okay if the entrants can’t afford IVF? Is it only okay if the entrants aren’t required to tell their sob stories? Nir Eyal, a professor of ethics at Harvard Medical School has an opinion: “I think it’s a good parody of the unfair system in which important medical services are only available to those who can afford them.”
