At Edge, a lot of really smart people answer their annual question and explain what we really should be worried about. HAVE FUN WITH THAT. (Hold me.)

Super interesting, but I think you should have warned people that the first response is by someone who believes China can and should ethnically homogenize its territory and encourage parents to select children based on hypothetical IQ.

The latter policy I guess is only hypothetically scary, the former already has resulted in real actual murder and general misery in China and should disbar anyone from having their opinion taken seriously.

@Wilgrims Yep. When I read his occupation was “Evolutionary Psychologist” my hackles went on alert and then once I actually started to read that racism justified as seeerius sciency like talk (The Chinese are so logical and don’t have any desire for intimacy, compassion or family connections! ).I threw up my hands.

There’s a woman later on that argues that lady brains in general just don’t understand science because DARWIN! That one really made me stabby. Says Stina/programmer/researcher/perfect score on nearly every scientific reasoning test she’s ever been given.

@Stina Yeah, that other one confused the hell out of me. We should all be worried about lady scientists? Like, more than catastrophic climate change?

Stina (#686)

@cryptolect I thought of that later on too. Wow, I didn’t know I was that damn powerful. Fear me y’all. Seriously, don’t even get close.

I just read the “Misplaced Worries” one and, Logan, we shall hold each other.
