The rivalries remind me of the Caribbean Island rivalries, common culture but man do we talk trash about each other.

Look, your hallowed trinity of “Asians, Blacks and Jews” are quite heterogenous and possess no single national-cultural identity. “Asian” could mean Korean, Chinese, etc. On the other hand, Norwegians are a very specific people with a strong national identity.

If you described Americans as inventive and individualistic, I would say that’s a damn fine descriptor, not “racist” and “ethnic stereotyping”. Wild and pedantic accusations from internet trolls have no business here. Keep the comments productive.

You get the sense that some leftie humanities types, like yourself, truly overcompensate and lose their minds whenever they get a rare chance to actually entertain their soft bigotries and the gentle underbelly of racism.

Of course, sadly, the days of racial and ethnic stereotyping of Jews, Asians or blacks have since long been forbidden. But hey! Cheer up! There are still groups where it is okay, so let us totally bloat ourselves, for racism is fun! Hihi!

Oh, man, being like David J. Michael is so easy. I just pick an ethnic group and entertain my own racism and/or whatever ethnic stereotypes I’ve heard.

See my point? Ethnic stereotyping is racism. So I’m disgusted to see you immediately take the chance when you know(or rather, think) that you can actually get away with it.
What your ancestry is or is not doesn’t concern me one iota. As if racism is “okay” if it’s coming from someone partly of the same group.

I know the defenders of the ‘harmless fun’ will rear their ugly heads any moment now, as all defenders of racism sound the same in the name of “fun”.

But these sleazy defenders would never be able to do it when it came to black/asian/Jewish ethnic stereotyping. Then, their calls for “harmless fun” would face the shitstorm their racism-apologizing spines wouldn’t handle; and they’d fold. In fact, they wouldn’t even attempt the “harmless fun”, pro-racism excuse, because they know they are creamed and pay a deep price for it.

But again, if you’re not comfortable with the kind of sleazy ethnic stereotyping for blacks, Asians or Jews, then there’s no reason why you should do it for other groups. But you do. And that, is where we have a problem. Because some of us don’t have double standards for racism and ethnic stereotyping of the most disgusting kind.

Because it raises the inevitable question, namely this: do you avoid ethnically stereotyping other racial groups not because you aren’t a racist(which this piece is an indication of) but simply by the way you can get away with it? In other words, this piece raises the question if your natural draw to racist stereotypes, and acceptance and even promotion of them, solely rests on your ability to get away with it against ‘safe’ groups.

Because then your “anti-racism” nothing but a thin veneer of social expediency, or the lack thereof.

I hope I don’t get to read these kind of disgusting racist drabbles filled to the brim with racially tinged ethnic stereotyping.

Whether it’s Jews, Asians, blacks or Scandinavians for that matter.
Keep your ethnic stereotyping to yourself. Actual non-racists, not those who crawl under the rock as soon as the social price is easy to pay, are disgusted.
