I feel like I would be better off than most. I grew up in the woods, have hunted and foraged, I've raised and butchered livestock, I'm pretty crafty, I've lived off the grid, and I have a rifle. I'd have to get to my dad's gun safe in Cali to get it though, so I probably shouldn't rely on that.

Butcher. We'd have to kill and eat animals, but I realised the other day that I'd have no idea how to go about skinning and gutting an animal after I caught it.

Also: Herbologist/botanist. We probably would only be able to maintain minimal agricultural establishment, so we'd have to rely on what we could gather. But how to we know that particular mushroom/herb is not poisonous, hmmm?

+1 homeless people!

@Stina Oh, these are both really good--I like wilderness/hunting guide. If it was actually your profession, you've probably dealt with some bad stuff, too, like crappy weather when you weren't expecting it.

Any kind of medical training would probably pretty good. Even if you flunked out of med school you'd probably still be in pretty high demand.
I have none of these skills though. I guess I could write the only surviving account of the apocalypse.

Sadly I have thought about this due to watching "The Walking Dead" (I'm not a prepper! Really! I want to go out in the first wave!)but I think ....
1. Large animal vet. Think about it. Has to be able to do a huge variety of medical procedures with amateur help and in less than ideal conditions.
2. Wilderness/hunting guide. Has to be able to deal with people and can hunt for food. Good with traps for food and/or security.
