Zip-a-Dee-Do 1 Thing

Thursday is a great day to do that 1 thing you don’t want to do but also don’t want to continue thinking about doing. What is your 1 thing?

My 1 thing this day was to call my credit union and change my address with them. Oh, but Logan, I thought you already did that maybe? Nope. “You didn’t you do that, with all that other address changing that you did?” I DID NOT.

I was about to, so many days again, and then I was like, LIGHT BULB, I am going to use this opportunity to just change banks entirely because this one is based in Oregon and not really SET UP to SUPPORT someone who lives in New York, and also I’ve been wanting to do that forever and NOW IS THE TIME. But I didn’t do that, and I still haven’t done that.

So today I gave up and called the credit union and changed my address and while I was at it ordered more checks and a new debit card since mine has become a two-swipes-before-it-works one. I’m never going to leave this bank, am I? You’re never going to leave this bank. You’re right you’re right I know you’re right.

You just bought your bank a $200 nightie, didn’t you?

I have the same thing with my bank. I was going to switch from Bank of America to a smaller bank last year, but then I just opened a second account at the new bank, never closed the old one, and I just have two now. :(

My one thing is to take my car in for an oil change, because as I discovered when I finally tracked down my receipt for the last time I brought it in, it is something like 2,000 miles overdue, but I decided to wait till tomorrow so I can pack something to read while I wait. I did finally clear a mass of mail and insurance paperwork out of my work bag, so that was something.

I confirmed a meeting with my mentor and then am going to go home and double check my bank balances before buying some much-needed winter work pants.

I called Mohela to ask them to help me understand their website. It worked! Numbers have meanings now.

It’s actually Friday here, but I have done my one thing at work in digging into analytics and creating a few reports (been putting this off forever).

My one thing is also a (shamefully) overdue work thing. I had to admit to myself that I’m not good at it and feeling anxious because of that and needed to Just Jump In.

My one thing is to finish the living room curtains. My neighbors will be disappointed. Or not.

I have a friend who is a financial adviser, and she told me once that people are more likely to get divorced than change banks. I have changed banks, and it was awesome and empowering.

My One Thing is a writing project thing. Ugh words what are they how do they work.

I did a one thing recently that really worked out in my favor!I hadn’t changed my address with my insurance company because, ugg, you can’t do it online so I put it off and off. Then I finally called and they were like “your premium is $20 less now!” and I was so proud of myself the end.
