My dad, despite being a happy individual, is still struggling with the fact that she never trusted him despite running the business successfully for almost 30 years. He sacrificed time with us for her, she ended up with a million or so then made the accountant her representative upon her death on the board because she didn't trust her own kids. I still loved her though and try to remember the good moments with her and my aunt. Reminds me of my grandmother, except there actually was money and a family business.
