But I was missing hanging out with my friends, so I set a rule -- immediately get the cheapest item on the menu or the beer list, regardless of what it is, barring allergies. It helps. Lots of watery beers and fatty burgers, probably bad for the diet, but I got that condo without losing my social life completely. I cut down on going out when I got serious about saving for a condo.
