The Things You Hear About Your Co-Workers

Here’s a story in The Morning News about what it’s like to work as a bagger in a grocery store, work with people who either want to get to know you or don’t care to, and sort through feelings when you hear bad things about coworkers you like (this is the crux of the piece, actually). There is also a murder!

You got me with, “There is also a murder!” Great read.

That was really well written and interesting.

Whoa. I used to bag groceries when I was in high school.

I spent most of the article just assuming it was written by a dude (gendered grocery bagger assumptions!) and then came across the “finding a cute dress” part.

I also kept expecting Melissa to turn out to be a psychopath that made up all those things about Larry and then murdered him.

@Reginal T. Squirge How about the “checking out my legs… you’re so hired” part?

I just thought it was that the supervisor thought he had muscular legs and would be able to stand on his feet all day. It went right over my head!
