Come and Gone
Good morning. How did everyone taking shelter on the East Coast fare last night? The dog lovers at Riverside Park were having their normal mornings today, but of course, the city has been ravaged by flooding and power outages. I lost my Internet connection, and my lights oh-so-briefly, but am otherwise all good. So, I haven’t heard from Logan since 6 p.m. last night after her Internet went out, and she has yet to respond to my texts. Her phone may have run out of juice, but in any case, we may be taking things a little bit slower today.
Edit: Logan got back to me, we’re good!

I AM ALIVE
boston didn’t get hit too bad, so i took advantage of my impromptu day off by sitting in my sunroom under a cozy blanket, reading A Dance with Dragons with the sound of howling winds and rain as ambience. it was lovely.
One of the “Around the Web” links just taught me that cats headbutting is called “BUNTING” and now I’ve lost cognitive function. TOO CUTE.
Glad y’all are okay. The property costs of this have got to be sky-high and debilitating. I’m especially worried about renters, because I can’t imagine every landlord will be able to bounce back from this kind of flooding and get back up to code. Oh god.
@aetataureate Did you know that a group of cats is called a “CLOWDER?” When a clowder gathers, there is much bunting to be done.
My place in Morningside Heights didn’t lose power at all- we’re doing just fine. I’m so ready to leave my apartment at least for a little bit today.
I AM GLAD YOU ARE ALIVE. eat lots of beans.
I think it mostly missed Toronto — Darwin wasn’t huddled in a ball in the bathroom, that’s how I knew not to get too worried. Glad everyone is OK!
