A Shortage of Miners
Harvard University’s graduates are earning less than those from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology after a decade-long commodity bull market created shortages of workers as well as minerals.
There’s gold in them hills. Well, there are mining jobs in them hills that will pay a decent salary for those who studied mining in college—only 14 schools in the U.S. are offering mining engineering degrees, down from 30 in 1982. [via]
