‘Mitt Romney Almost Certainly Disapproves of These Shirts’

Everything that America can be most proud of, distilled onto one t-shirt, sold by two kids out of their Washington, D.C. apartment. $18 bucks, cheap.

I…don’t get it?

sockhopbop (#764)

@mirror_father_mirror oh thank goodness, me neither.

@sockhopbop Maybe if we sit here quietly in the corner, someone smarter will explain it to us?

@mirror_father_mirror here’s an article that explains some of it. Basically it’s a company that went bankrupt under Mitt Romney and the Obama campaign is using it as an example that Romney isn’t as business savvy as he claims.

And also I think Romney said that the company went bankrupt at a time when he wasn’t involved in it, so, it highlights that he is a liar as well. (I think)

@redheaded&crazy No, I mean, I know what Bain Capital is. I live in the US, and I have eyes. I don’t get why putting the name of the company on a t-shirt is a super clever, funny joke.

@mirror_father_mirror Oh sorry. I wasn’t trying to be patronizing.

@mirror_father_mirror i just googled “bain capital t-shirt why is it funny,” to no avail.

@sockhopbop I think the humor is supposed to lie in its pure, uncut, ironical ironyness.

A trademark violation with no context made by two (30 year old) kids in their basement. Sounds like a great way to spend money. It’s so ironic and topical. You know what else is funny? The word “cunt.” Yeah? That’s the “c-word”, i’nnit?
