I saw it in “real IMAX” (Universal Citywalk) and thought that it kind of detracted from the movie watching experience when it kept switching between aspect ratios and thereby general picture qualities. Kind of takes you out of the experience and reaffirms that this is a movie, not real life :( The IMAX scenes were really cool though!

@Adam F@twitter It definitely fails as a piece of storytelling, which is an even bigger bummer for all of the potentially great aspects. David – great potential. Theron’s character – great potential. The Architects – great potential. There is just simultaneously too much and not enough going on with any of the storylines for anything to makes sense or have impact.

But when the weird larva things finally start to attack the guys left behind? Man, that was pretty badass to watch in IMAX 3D.

I loved this movie so much guys, but have yet to see it in IMAX (on the list). After the movie was over I turned to my boyfriend and was all “OMFG I LOVED IT I LOVED IT SO MUCH.” I never do that. YES THIS MOVIE HAS ITS FLAWS but I don’t care. I like my superheroes dark, I like my endings happy, I like my cape-wearing legacy passed on from generation to generation, I like Anne Hathaway in a cat suit. SO GOOD.

I haven’t seen it yet either!

I am definitely going to go see it in Imax, especially having read this review. I saw Dark Knight in Imax and I can still picture how incredible the opening burglary scene looked. So good. Also, the super dorky super 90s IMAX intro is worth at least $1 to me.

Side note: Toy Story 3 and Return of the King were clearly the best parts of their trilogies. I watched Toy Story 3 on the weekend. All the crying. All of it.

@Saralyn@twitter Yeah, right? I’m bummed we never actually talked about Prometheus here because, even more than with this movie, Prometheus (in IMAX and 3D) took a million dollars out of my wallet and rewarded me with a movie that made no sense and I am still SO glad I saw it. Partly because it looked great/was a good sensory experience, but mostly because the conversation afterwards trying (failing) to make sense of it was hilarious and so much fun. The movie fails as a piece of storytelling. But there are other, sometimes better reasons to pay for entertainment.

I have not seen it yet! Also I agree Prometheus was worth the Imax 3D, but I also really liked it!
I will say though that I know for a fact that my heart is Batman.
