		<description>The worst of it is the secrecy. I can take personnel decisions for what they are, even if they&#039;re poorly informed ones. But at a public university, ain&#039;t no excuse for the kind of total lack of transparency we&#039;re seeing in this situation. I sat and waited out the Board of Visitors (pretentious goddamn term) in the lobby of UVA&#039;s Rotunda with the rest of the Charlottesville press corps the night of their epic meeting, and the whole thing just felt ridiculous. Just spit it out, y&#039;all: You&#039;re a bunch of CEOs who have no clue how to run an academic institution. 

The only nice bit is that despite the Board&#039;s trying to time this so that nobody would be around to freak out, everybody came together to freak out. </description>
