Awareness Want Ad for a ‘Torturer’ is Effective
Instead of talking about Facebook, or Mark Zuckerberg this morning, let’s talk about this job ad in The Guardian for a “torturer.” It reads: “If this sounds like a sick joke, that’s only because jobs like this aren’t usually advertised.” That’s fair—let’s not pretend the U.S. doesn’t use torture to get information—and it turns out the ad is actually an awareness campaign from a medical foundation that treats torture victims. Consider us aware! I wonder if £21,000 ($33,000) is what torturers are actually paid, because that seems like a terrible salary for a terrible job. [via Boing Boing]

That’s a really good ad. And a really good second tag.
